Do you know everything present in your home even the things that you believe to be inanimate is, in reality, radiating energy? Science says that everything has its own special resonance that is interconnected with our own resonance. This explains why some things seem to lift us up while some bring us down.

“Clutter steals energy and joy”
Monika Kristofferson

There are two types of clutter that exist in this world, Mental clutter and Visual clutter. Visual clutter is those things that may go unnoticed but combines together to give a messy and disorganized look to our room. Visual clutter represents the mental clutter existing inside us which can also increase the mental clutter. The best tip for decluttering your mind is to first declutter your space.

My take on Decluttering my Space

It has been more than a week approx when I last cleaned my dresser. The thick dust layer resting on my dresser can be seen from the moon above. The first step of cleaning was throwing away things I don't use anymore. After that, I cleaned the surface of the dresser with soap and water to get rid of the oil stain from last week. Then I wiped my wooden box and placed my essentials in their rightful places. Check below the ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures of the cleaning I have done!

Mirror, Mirror on the wall… who’s the tidy-est of them all?

This is my unkempt bed where I usually spend 18 hours of the day studying, sleeping, or eating. The two-day-old laundry resting on my bed is representing my unwillingness to fold the laundry and keep it back in the cupboard. I started off by first folding the laundry, and the blanket and sheet. Then I changed the bedsheet, put my laptop on the study table and TADAA I was done cleaning my space in no time. Just kidding! It took me 60 minutes in total.

Last night, I watched decluttering and deep cleaning room videos, and read articles backed up with science to convince you that fixing your environment has its own pros (boosts your creativity and productivity, reduces stress and anxiety, improves overall well-being).

“If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed when you wake up”
William McRaven

Thanks to the project assigned by Amal Academy, I cleaned up my room which I won’t have done unless any guests were coming. The ultimate feeling was so addictive that it boosted my mood and self-esteem. There were no distractions or mess. Pure bliss! 🤩

Accomplishing this one task gave me a sense of pride and drove me to accomplish another task and then another. By the end of the day, this one task ended up turning many tasks complete. This task gave me the authority to change my life, and my mind in a much bigger way than I ever imagined. I was the leader today, having the power of transforming my room from a mess to a tidy space.

Now, I am choosing to live in a clean and clutter-free space and make my bed regularly so that my bed is always welcoming.

Do try and witness how addictive it is. You, definitely, won’t be able to go back to your untidy ways. Good luck getting organized❤️
