Colors of My Life

Like the colors in the sky, the colors of life are temporary

I have always disliked changes in my life because changes meant getting out of my comfort zone and learning to like that change. I also had no interest in making new friends until I joined Amal Academy, which was the beginning of my new life. Initially, I joined Amal Academy to improve my soft skills even so I didn’t know I would have a chance to make new friends.

If I can relate my first two weeks’ experience at Amal Academy, I’ll say it was like falling from the sky towards the ground with a parachute on but still scared of not being able to survive.

The 2 hours and 30 minutes span felt like 30 minutes only due to the fun activities, our program manager, and the beautiful intellectual funny fellows. That time was enough to take all my stress away and fill me with joy and happiness. The online courses were nothing less fun than the weekend session and interacting with fellow fellows in the break-out rooms was exciting. Where learning group activities were helping in building my confidence, my group fellows sharing their ideas and their strength stories helped me get more courageous.

The one thing I struggled with all my life- Procrastination, was solved and I can safely say that I have kicked procrastination out of my life all because of the online courses and project works and have learned to resist procrastination at my best.

“Clouds in the sky very much resemble the thoughts in our minds! Both changes perpetually from one second to another!” — Mehmet Murat ildan

No matter how clear and blue the sky may be at the moment, eventually, there will be clouds again.

I have a habit of staring at the evening sky and the moon. It is my “Me time” of the day where all my stress goes away and that moment is solely for me to relax and reflect on the day that has passed. This is also the time when I take most of my decisions and this was the time when I decided to get into the Amal Academy for the betterment of myself by developing soft and professional skills.

Outlive the storm. Because life is like the sky and the sun will reappear.

Before joining Amal, I preferred to work alone, keeping my ideas within myself, and never started the conversation or broke the ice. After joining Amal, I have noticed drastic changes; I have started enjoying working in teams, collaborating with other team members, and gained enough confidence to not hesitate to share my opinions and ideas, and be always ready to lead without authority. These are some of the positive changes that I didn’t expect to ever develop.

Just as clouds come rolling over the horizon, so troubles and challenges will come rolling into my life at various times. But this is not something to be fearful of; it’s simply something to be prepared for, for which Amal Academy has played its big role.

I have been in tornadoes, hurricanes, and thunderstorms of all shapes and sizes. I have watched them blacken the sky and spew their environmental fury across the landscape. But I have never seen a storm that lasted forever. Eventually, the clouds parted and the blue sky and sun reappeared.

Life is the same way. It can be cruel at times. Huge, rolling clouds of suffering and disappointment can darken the landscape of your life. But no matter how dark it may be in your life, I can promise you- “This too shall pass”. ✨
